NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring five players that need to be traded at the deadline.
Even though the All-Star break is widely considered to be the proverbial “halfway” point of the regular season, it actually happens when most teams have around 25 games left to go, meaning about 70 percent of the regular season has happened already.
Most teams have now played around half of their games, so given that we are already halfway through the season, teams will be looking ahead at the next few months and wonder what they need to do now in order to get to where they want to be. What moves teams need to make can differ immensely depending on what position the franchise is currently in.
Some teams will be true title-contenders and will just be looking for one or two pieces to complement their squad or reduce any weaknesses. Other teams will be frantically scrabbling to fix the huge problems they currently have so they can become better in the short term. A few franchises will know that there’s no hope in hell of them becoming competitive in the next few months, and so it’s best to blow up their team now so they can start a full rebuilding process right now rather than later.
Whatever each time’s status is right now, we should see some serious trades happen before the trade deadline in early February, and here are my top five players who need to be moved.
