NBA Trade Rumors: The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly shopping Talent Horton-Tucker.

Heading into the few weeks before the NBA Trade Deadline, it’s not actually surprising that the Los Angeles Lakers are seeking to make some roster upgrades ahead of the playoff push. Of course, that’s easier said than done.

The Lakers don’t have a ton of trade assets that they could offer to significantly upgrade their roster, but there is one gem that most believe could make a big difference as they seek roster additions.

And that’s Talen Horton-Tucker. However, for much of the season, the overwhelming narrative was that THT was off-limits when it came to any deals involving the Lakers. Though, at least according to a recent report, that sentiment seems to have changed.

"[via LA Times]According to people with knowledge of the situation, the team is shopping 21-year-old Talen Horton-Tucker in trade discussions. Rival general managers believe the Lakers value Horton-Tucker, but they lack the mid-range contracts needed to put together a deal to upgrade their roster and understand no significant trade is getting made without him."

It’s not exactly surprising that the Lakers could be shopping THT. Especially when you consider the circumstances that the team finds itself in.

Let’s paint the picture that the Lakers are currently in. Los Angeles is 22-22 and clinging to the 8th spot in the Western Conference standings. From all indications, it seems as if the season is slowly falling away.

The Lakers are looking more like a team that could possibly miss the playoffs entirely than one that could possibly make some noise in the postseason. And for that to be a reality for a team that employs both LeBron James and Anthony Davis, that’s actually kind of astounding.

The Lakers are hoping to make some kind of splash at the NBA Trade Deadline and it appears they’re willing to move – arguably – their most prized young possession on their roster.
