NBA Trade Rumors: Miami Heat would be open to trading Duncan Robinson
NBA Trade Rumors: The Miami Heat would be open to trading Duncan Robinson.
The Miami Heat has been one of the most impressive teams in the Eastern Conference this season, probably a bit better than most expected them to be at this point in the season.
What’s even more impressive is the fact that they’ve risen to second in the East standings despite Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo missing a huge chunk of the season.
As the team shifts its attention to the playoff push, it would be on par for the Heat to be somewhat active at the NBA Trade Deadline. Though, according to a recent report, there’s one surprising player that could be available.
"[via Action Network]Duncan Robinson has played less than 20 minutes in the last three games for the Heat. Max Strus has played over 25 in the last three games for the Heat. There’s a belief around the league that Robinson is a player Miami is open to talks about."
It’s tough to see if this report suggests that the Heat would actually be willing to shop Robinson ahead of the deadline or if this is more if a great offer came across their table or if a game-changing star became available, they’d be open to trade him.
That’s the beauty of the trade deadline. There’s a lot of smoke and not much fire. Either way, I don’t think this report should be brushed under the bed either.
Robinson has clearly struggled this season. He’s taken a clear step back this season. With more than half the season in the books, that’s become quite clear.
Since becoming a full-time player for the Heat, Robinson is having his worst season to date. He’s averaging just 11 points on 38 percent shooting from the field and 34 percent shooting from 3-point range.
For whatever reason, Robinson doesn’t seem comfortable and something isn’t right. You’d have to wonder if the pressure of his contract is becoming a problem. If so, perhaps a change of scenery is what he needs.
And if that’s the case, it would make sense that the Heat would be open to trading him. Though, it still seems too early.
