NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring three possible landing spots for Russell Westbrook if he is moved ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

As we inch closer and closer toward the NBA Trade Deadline, one thing that has become quite clear is that, if possible, the Los Angeles Lakers would jump at the opportunity to trade Russell Westbrook.

In his defense, Westbrook has had a fairly good season in terms of counting stats. To date, Westbrook is averaging 19 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists per game on 44 percent shooting from the field.

Despite that, he hasn’t been a good fit on the Lakers. His game doesn’t mesh well with LeBron James and Anthony Davis and the two sides would probably be better without each other at this point.

Before we get into the thick of this article, let’s examine the possibility of Russ hitting the open market. And he can do so two ways. For one, it’s probably unlikely that he’s traded ahead of the deadline. I don’t buy the Westbrook for John Wall rumors that have arisen over the last week.

If it were to happen, Westbrook would likely be bought out and then hit the open market. That’s probably the most likely way he finds a new landing spot and even that is unlikely. Nevertheless, if it were to happen, we explore three potential landing spots that would make sense.
