NBA Trade Rumors: The New York Knicks appear to be ready to make a deal ahead of the trade deadline.
Labeled as one of the bigger disappointments so far this season, it appears that the New York Knicks are ready to make another deal as the NBA Trade Deadline quickly approaches.
The Knicks acquired Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks last week, but after another week of disappointing basketball, it’s clear that this team needs to shake up the roster if they have any hope of making a push toward the postseason.
And according to multiple reports, the Knicks are open and ready to make a deal.
First, it was reported that the Knicks would be open to trading Julius Randle for the right price. Then, it was reported that New York is also shopping Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, and Alec Burks.
This is not exactly surprising, especially if you’ve been following the Knicks at all this season. New York is currently 23-26 which is good enough for 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. They’re only two games out of the 8th seed in the conference, but their recent play hasn’t suggested that this team is capable of playing any more consistently.
The Knicks have the sixth-worst offense in the league and are average on the defensive end. That’s not a good combination for a team that is trying to take a step forward after finishing 4th in the Eastern Conference standings a year ago.
New York has some big decisions to make over the next couple of weeks and they’re going to have to figure out how they want to proceed forward as an organization.
And there’s no question that what they do at the trade deadline will absolutely begin to tip their hand on how they’ll approach the offseason.
