NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring three intriguing trade destinations for Myles Turner.

Myles Turner‘s name has been in the swirling rumors of trade speculation for most of the season and it’s very likely the Indiana Pacers will be dealing him at or before the trade deadline. Many teams could use the services of the league’s leading shot-blocker as he will be a hot commodity and viewed as a player who can definitely give a team the advantage it needs in the postseason.

Ahead of the deadline, we explore three teams where Turner’s impact could truly have a profound impact.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a team that has the potential to eliminate a higher seeded team if they can qualify for the playoffs. They currently sit in 8th place in the West as they have several promising young players on their roster.

Karl Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Anthony Edwards are the franchise cornerstones but the Wolves do have other players who are expendable to try and improve the team and would be well worth parting ways with if they could acquire a player of Turner’s caliber.

A trade for Turner would improve the defense immensely and provide the team with a true rim protector. The Wolves are 13th overall in rebounds per game and Turner’s 7.1 rebounds per game could help improve in that area. Players who could be involved in a trade are Jaylen Nowell, Malik Beasley, Naz Reid, and Josh Okogie just to name a few.

The acquisition of Turner would allow the Wolves to slide Anthony Towns to the power forward spot where he would likely be more comfortable and create more mismatches not just for himself but for his teammates as well.

A starting 5 of Russell, Jaden McDaniels, Anthony Towns, and Turner could be fun to watch and also intrigue other players to sign with the Wolves in the offseason. The overall goal would be for the Wolves to make the playoffs and gain experience as a unit moving forward in the future.
