NBA Trade Rumors: Toronto Raptors expected to trade Goran Dragic
NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, the Toronto Raptors are expected to move Goran Dragic by the trade deadline.
Goran Dragic has only played in five games this season for the Toronto Raptors but it’s not expected he’s going to play anymore. Per a recent report, which should come as a surprise to no one, it appears that the Raptors are expected to trade Dragic ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.
According to a report from the Toronto Star, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that the Raptors will be trading Dragic at the deadline.
In the five games he appeared in, Dragic averaged eight points and two assists per game in 18 minutes per game. It’ll be interesting to see what teams would be interested in Dragic, who was acquired by the Raptors during the offseason when a sign-and-trade for Kyle Lowry (from Miami) was executed.
Dragic may not be a starter at this point in his career, but there’s no question that he could emerge as a valuable asset off the bench for a team that is trying to beef up its depth in the backcourt heading into the playoff push.
He played a vital role for the Miami Heat en route to a surprise appearance in the NBA Finals a couple of seasons ago and could do the same for another team this year – even though he probably would welcome it, he can’t be traded to the Heat.
One place, where he would welcome a trade to is the Dallas Mavericks. He has a great relationship with Luka Doncic and would actually be an asset for the team – especially if they end up trading Jalen Brunson at the trade deadline.
In what many expect to be a busy trade deadline, there’s at least one name that will likely be dealt – Goran Dragic. It’ll be interesting to see how many other “big” names will also be swapping jerseys.
