NBA Trade Rumors: Spencer Dinwiddie is not a fit with the Washington Wizards and they are looking to trade him ahead of the deadline.

Over the last couple of months, an argument could be made that there hasn’t been that has faded more in the Eastern Conference than the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards are currently 23-26 and sitting in the 11th spot of the Eastern Conference. They are not necessarily out of the playoff picture, but it would be unlikely to see them make a substantial move up the East standings during the second half of the season.

Maybe this team finds a way to make it into the play-in tournament, but there isn’t much hope for this team to make it any further than that.

One hope for the team heading into this season revolved around the acquisition of Spencer Dinwiddie, who was one of the prized offseason possessions for the team. However, it simply hasn’t worked out for the team.

So far this season, Dinwiddie isn’t having the best of seasons. He’s averaging 13 points, six assists, and five rebounds on 39 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Adding to his less than stellar numbers, he also reportedly hasn’t been a good fit on the team. According to a recent report, because of that reasoning, the team is hoping to trade Dinwiddie ahead of the deadline.

"[via The Ringer]The Wizards want to move Dinwiddie because he looks like a shell of his former self and his teammates don’t want him there."

Assuming that this report is accurate, it kind of is depressing that this combination hasn’t workout out for the Wizards. Even more so considering that this is a move that the team was hoping would help sell Bradley Beal on signing a long-term extension.
