Underrated trade candidates: Torrey Craig, F, Indiana Pacers

2021-22 Stats: 5.5 PTS, 3.9 REB, 1.0 AST, 0.6 STL, 0.5 BLK, 48.0 FG%, 36.8 3PT%

It seems like every year Torrey Craig finds himself on a contender and for good reason. Despite this, Craig finds himself on a struggling Indiana Pacers squad that’s been riddled with injuries. Craig doesn’t fit the Pacers timeline and, according to recent reports, Indiana is looking to sell some of their assets at the deadline. I would not be shocked if Craig gets dealt once again.

Craig is one of the best 3-and-D journeymen in the league and can be of use to any contending team. Craig uses his long arms to deflect passes and create havoc for the opposing team’s offense. Craig has a defensive rating of 109.1 which is above average. Craig also shoots roughly 37 percent from beyond the arc making him a reliable option from downtown.

Craig is also a bargain on his current contract. Earning only $5 million per year, matching salaries in a trade would not be a tall task. Look for serious contenders to bid on Craig with a mix of second-round picks and young players who barely see the court.
