Tyler Herro and the Heat bench

The Miami Heat are tied with the Chicago Bulls at the top of the Eastern Conference despite Bam Adebayo playing in only 50 percent of games, Jimmy in 62 percent, and Lowry in 76 percent of the games.

Why?

Herro and the Miami Heat bench have been lights out this season. Tyler Herro must’ve heard the noise about how good he was in the bubble and then the disappointing season after that change occurred.

This year, Herro is averaging a career-high in points at 20 and averaging four assists to go along with 4.8 rebounds a game. He is also shooting 37 percent from 3-point range.

Herro is a prime candidate to win the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year and at this rate, will win the award.

Now, moving on to one of the most important things a team needs. A bench, a good bench that can put points up while the starters are catching their breath.

The Miami Heat have one of the best benches in the entire NBA. The Heat is fourth in total bench points per game. The other four teams in front of them are the Spurs, Rockets, and Pistons. Those teams will not even reach the playoffs.

Therefore, out of all the contenders, Miami has the best bench in terms of scoring. Pat Rile finds players such as Max Strus who stepped in vs Boston on Monday night and dropped 27 points or Gabe Vincent who fills up the stat sheet in all aspects.

Final thoughts

Pat Riley always finds a way to construct these teams who people think are not a threat until the threat arrives and disposes of the opposing team. The Eastern Conference needs to be on alert because the Miami Heat from top to bottom, is the best team overall in the conference.
