NBA Trade Rumors: The Washington Wizards are expected to target Domantas Sabonis, Jerami Grant ahead of the trade deadline.
The Washington Wizards have been one of the most frustrating teams in the NBA this season. They have some real talent on their roster but, for one reason or another, haven’t been able to put it all together this season.
After their first 13 games, in which they appeared primed to be a dark horse playoff team in the Eastern Conference, they have cooled off significantly. Since their 10-3 start, the Wizards are only 13-24.
Currently, they’re 23-27, 12th in the Eastern Conference standings, and in real danger of falling out of the playoff chase entirely. For as much talent as this team has on paper, it simply doesn’t make a ton of sense.
Nevertheless, according to a recent report, that’s something the Wizards are going to try to remedy at the trade deadline.
The Wizards have big goals a week ahead of the deadline, with eyes on Domantas Sabonis and Jerami Grant.

Where it gets interesting is whether or not the Wizards actually make such a big move, especially considering that Bradley Beal could leave during the offseason for nothing – as the Wizards continue to maintain that they’re not going to trade him.
Acquiring Sabonis or Grant, especially considering the assets they would have to give up, would suggest that the Wizards have a whole lot of faith in Beal re-signing with the team during the offseason.

Right now, that seems like it’s far from a foregone conclusion. Either way, the Wizards could be one of the most fascinating teams at the trade deadline. Watching what they do could very well end up telling us more than we currently know about Beal and his impending decision.
