Bench Bigs + Flyers:
10. Daniel Theis, Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are shopping both of their veteran centers, and have had a solid rumored interest. Theis specifically has garnered interest from “playoff-caliber” teams. Theis profiles as a solid if unspectacular bench big, whose biggest assets are defense and rebounding.
Personally, I think his limitations are enough to pay up for a better big at the deadline. Either that or waiting out to see what materializes on the buyout market. He has started for playoff teams in recent years, though, and I would not be surprised to see him dealt to one.
9. Nicolas Claxton, Brooklyn Nets
Nicolas Claxton is a super interesting player. He is never going to get enough run in Brooklyn to see his full potential, and there are rumors they have explored dealing him with an extension on the horizon.
Claxton is a springy (but spry) center that has exploded for massive blocks and dunks. I believe him to be an Onyeka Okungwu type center with a lower ceiling. If you have a veteran that interests the Nets, I would easily take a flyer on Claxton ahead of his restricted free agency this summer.
