Starters + Borderline Stars
6. Mo Bamba, Orlando Magic
I AM HIGHER ON BAMBA THAN ANY OF YOU. Let me tell you why. He hits 35 percent of his 2.8 3’s per game and is averaging 2.0 blocks as well. If you wanted Myles Turner but were squeamish upon hearing the rumors of his request for a bigger offensive role, you should absolutely inquire about Bamba.
There are conflicting reports on his availability, but with Wendell Carter Jr. and Franz Wagner cementing the future starting big man spots in Orlando, he should be available for the right price. I think Bamba would play significant minutes for contenders like the Warriors and Bucks, and they should be involved in talks.
5. Jusuf Nurkic, Portland Trail Blazers
Jusuf Nurk is a rock-solid starting center. His post moves and passing chops are indicative of the many talented Euro big men. While he is not an elite defender, he puts forth effort and is a great rebounder (which remains an underrated aspect of defense).
He is on an expiring contract so could double as a salary cap free-er this summer as well as a starter during a playoff run. Teams like the Hornets should be calling the Blazers, who are reportedly making many of their veterans available.
