Grading the trade in which the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Caris LeVert from the Indiana Pacers.

The 2022 NBA Trade Deadline frenzy is officially up and running. There have already been a couple of trades that have gotten the juices flowing and now the Cleveland Cavaliers, one of the biggest surprises in the league this season, have added to the arsenal.

Officially the Cavs acquired Caris LeVert from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Ricky Rubio (expiring contract), a lottery-protected 2022 first-round pick, and two second-round picks.

On the surface, it appears that both sides got exactly what they wanted from the deal. Though, as is almost always the case, both sides will be judged and graded by what happens over the next few months.

It’s part of what makes the NBA Trade Deadline special and toxic at the very same time. Nevertheless, it’s a tradition unlike any other.

With that said, let’s break down the trade a bit further.
