NBA Trade Rumors: Tracking every deal that takes place on deadline day.

The 2022 NBA Trade Deadline is finally here. After months and weeks of speculation, it’s officially time for all that to end. If there are trades to be had, they will get done today. If not, teams will have to wait until the offseason to make some dramatic changes to their roster.

There are plenty of big names that have found themselves on the trade block and there is even the chance for a few blockbuster deals to get done. As is almost always the case when it comes to the NBA Trade Deadline, one thing that there isn’t is a certainty.

A few storylines to follow throughout the day around the league:

  • Will James Harden and/or Ben Simmons be traded?
  • If not, how many of the other big names (John Collins, Jerami Grant, Russell Westbrook) will be moved?
  • What will the Los Angeles Lakers be able to pull off?
  • Who will emerge as the surprise team of the day?

Even though the atmosphere may be ripe for some trades, and some big ones at that, there’s no guarantee that we’re going to see substantial movement. But that’s OK.

Even if the big trades don’t come to fruition, today should be a good day all-around for those fans that love the transaction. The past week has been full of whispers – or smoke. Too much smoke for there to be absolutely no fire.

Question is, will the fires that arise be big enough to spread flames toward the rest of the league? The good news is that we’re about to find out.

Keep it here throughout the day up to the trade deadline as we keep track and offer some instant reaction to what transpires all day.

2022 NBA Trade Deadline Day Tracker:

Milwaukee Bucks land Serge Ibaka in a four-team trade

The Milwaukee Bucks add some frontcourt depth in the event that Brook Lopez won’t be able to return this season. Though, there has been recent hope that he can. The Pistons did well by adding a young project who comes with plenty of talent.

The Kings, well bless them, they’re going for it.

Toronto Raptors add Thaddeus Young

This deal is all about the San Antonio Spurs getting potentially a first-round deal in exchange for Thaddeus Young. They are likely going to buy out Goran Dragic and the real interesting storyline is where is he going to sign next.

You’d figure that the Dallas Mavericks will be in play.

The Boston Celtics make a move to save some money

Not really much to talk about here other than the fact that Bol Bol is not about to head to his third team in his young career. There’s a very real chance he could be remembered as a flash in the pan. Truly unfortunate.

Nets, Sixers pull off blockbuster swap

Well, there it is. The big move that many around the league were waiting for. The Nets get Ben Simmons, shooting help in Seth Curry, and help in the frontcourt with Andre Drummond while the Sixers get James Harden.

Philadelphia is officially a threat to win the NBA Championship.

The Celtics, Spurs swap shooting guards

Josh Richardson was simply never a great fit for the Celtics and they moved him. Derrick White should be a contributor for the Celtics as the push for the playoffs approaches.

Pacers, Suns make a small swap

The Suns get a more seasoned player in Torrey Craig and Jalen Smith gets a chance to jumpstart his career with the Pacers.

The Charlotte Hornets land their center

The Charlotte Hornets get a center that they have desperately needed. Montrezl Harrell has been good for the Washington Wizards so far this season and will be a valued addition.

The Wizards are selling

It’s clear that the Wizards are beginning to sell some of their assets, with the Phoenix Suns getting some guard depth.

The Dallas Mavericks get help for Luka Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks add some help for Luka Doncic in which they finally unload Kristaps Porzingis. The Mavs will get another guard to help take the scoring load off of Luka. The fit of Spencer Dinwiddie and Luka should be interesting.

Davis Bertans will help their shooting front as well. The firesale for the Wizards continues.
