The Washington Wizards know big change could be on the horizon

After a quick start to the season, the Washington Wizards have quickly fallen back to reality. With a huge decision looming for Bradley Beal, one thing was clear for the Wizards at the trade deadline – and it’s that they could be preparing for big change to come during the offseason.

With one decision, the Wizards will have to be able to make the pivot from playoff hopeful to full-blown rebuild. If Beal decides to decline an extension and leave, the Wizards will have no choice but to enter a rebuild.

We saw a bit of a preview of that at the deadline in which the Wizards traded Spencer Dinwiddie, Davis Bertans, and Montrezl Harrell. If Beal decides to leave during the offseason, there’s no question that we’re going to see a lot more movement from the team.
