The Los Angeles Lakers have given up on the season

I’m not really sure what else I can say about the Los Angeles Lakers other than the fact that their immediate future doesn’t look bright. They don’t make a trade at the deadline and will likely hope to lure someone that is bought out to Los Angeles. But, frankly, good luck.

The Lakers are currently four games under .500 and are outside of the top 8 in the Western Conference standings. Even if this team can’t somewhat right the ship during the push for the playoffs, they likely won’t’ be able to make up enough ground to get any higher than the 7th seed.

The fact that the Lakers didn’t make a move at the deadline suggests that this front office realizes that this could be one of those lost seasons. And considering that LeBron James doesn’t have many years remaining, that’s a shame.
