A (Derrick) Rose that flourished into a (Ja) Morant

Back in 2008, the NBA Draft featured a young guard out of the University of Memphis. Ironically, Ja is located in Memphis as well. Derrick Rose came into the NBA and had the league in a chokehold.

Yes, with the Miami Heat’s big three, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the West, Rose and the Chicago Bulls were the NBA’s best. Just like in Ja’s third season, Rose took the Bulls to the top of the Eastern Conference, capturing the overall number one seed and becoming the youngest MVP in league history.

Now, in just his third season, Ja Morant is on the same trajectory as Rose. Third season in the NBA, MVP in sight, a chance at the top seed in his conference and hopes of reaching the NBA Finals.
