NBA Trade Rumors: Plausible trade packages for Russell Westbrook the Los Angeles Lakers could make during the offseason.

Obviously, the Russell Westbrook acquisition didn’t work out for the Los Angeles Lakers. If LeBron James allegedly wanted to trade him AND a pick for John Wall (a fellow non-shooter who has played only 72 games in the last three years), then we know he’s aware of this too.

The good news? LeBron James is still awesome, and the Anthony Davis trade was three summers ago, meaning the Lakers are again able to trade distant future draft picks, an essential ingredient in properly revamping the roster to compete.

This summer, the Lakers will be able to trade their 2027 and 2029 first-round draft picks and offer swap rights to their 2026 and 2028 draft picks. These are really their only assets. LeBron and Davis aren’t getting traded. Talen Horton Tucker is a neutral or negative asset, and no rival GMs are thirsting for Austin Reaves or any other fringe rotation players.

So these trade proposals will just include Westbrook’s salary and the aforementioned picks.
