Who takes control of the MVP Race?

It has essentially come down to a two-horse race between Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic for NBA MVP honors. And while Embiid is the slight favorite in betting circles, the award could very well go to whoever plays better over the last 20ish games of the season.

One thing to watch for is that public narrative can often shape these awards. And while James Harden’s arrival in Philly certainly helps the team, can his help potentially hurt Embiid’s MVP case if Jokic continues to keep Denver afloat without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.?
