Memphis Grizzlies: Evaluating their championship chances in the West

Are the Memphis Grizzlies legit championship contenders? 

The Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the most pleasant surprises in the Western Conference this season. They’re currently ranked second in the conference standings and have been one of the most consistently impressive teams all season long.

However, as the playoffs quickly approach, you can’t help but wonder if the Grizzlies could be something more than just a feel-good regular-season story. It’s rare for a team to jump from 8th in the conference a season ago to a top 3 team without a huge offseason addition. Though, the Grizzlies have done exactly that this season.

The question is, are they legitimate title contenders heading into the final few weeks of the regular season? It’s not an easy question to answer but let’s try to do it either way with the information that we have at hand.
