8. Portland Trail Blazers – Bennedict Mathurin, G, Arizona

With projected back-to-back first-round draft picks, there will be an opportunity for the Portland Trail Blazers to add to their core with or without Damian Lillard – a decision will likely be clear on that front by the offseason.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Blazers elected to add to their backcourt, with an intriguing product such as Bennedict Mathurin being in play. Mathurin is having a really good sophomore season in which he’s averaging 17 points, six rebounds, and nearly three assists per game on 47 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range.

At 6-foot-6, Mathurin is an interesting prospect for the Blazers. Especially considering that they’re coming off a regime that housed two undersized guards. Mathurin would almost be the complete opposite.
