Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is officially out two weeks, possibly more with a left foot injury.

Since the middle of the season, one of the primary goals for the Golden State Warriors has revolved around getting to the postseason healthy. The team was well on their way to accomplishing that until Stephen Curry went down with a foot injury.

Despite that, there’s still hope that Curry will be back before the end of the regular season and that the Warriors can still get to the postseason healthy and, in turn, be a true contender in the Western Conference.

And that’s exactly the early indications

The Warriors announced that Curry will be re-evaluated in two weeks. That means that Curry will at least miss the team’s next 6-7 games and possibly more. With only 12 games remaining in the season, I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that we don’t see Curry again until the postseason.

That’s the most important timeline here. The Warriors could get by without Curry for the remainder of the regular season, even though they would likely give up some ground in the standings.

However, if the Warriors are going to have any shot at making any noise in the postseason, they’re going to need a fully healthy Curry by the time the postseason comes around. And based on the recent timeline that was thrown out, if Curry isn’t back by the postseason, perhaps there’s a bigger issue here that hasn’t come to light yet.

The good news is that it appears Curry’s absence will only be momentary. The hope is that he’s back and fully healthy by the time the playoffs swing around.
