Why the LA Clippers can make some noise as an underdog heading into the playoffs.

Before the season, it was difficult to outline how exactly the LA Clippers season would end up. However, with just a week remaining in the regular season, this team is looking more and more like one that will be a first-round playoff headache for any of the top two seeds in the Western Conference.

Even without Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers have the look of a team that could be upset-minded during a seven-game first-round series against a much better overall team. The fact that Paul George just made his return to the floor from injury only emboldens this team’s chances.

As it currently stands, the Clippers will have to play their way into the postseason. They must win one game to either be the 7th or 8th seed. Either way, they’ll likely be facing an u-hill battle against the Phoenix Suns or Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.

Even though it would be unlikely for the Clippers to actually pull off a first-round upset, there are a few reasons why this team could be dangerous as an underdog heading into the postseason.
