Age of the Oldies

LA was by far the oldest team in the association with an average age of 30.4 years of age. Narrowly over a full year older than the second oldest team the Utah Jazz who boast an average age of 29.3.

For added context, the Oklahoma City Thunder are the league’s youngest team in the league, they possess an average age of 22.4, exactly eight years younger than the Lakers’ average age. LA is old; they traded four players who are all still in their 20s for Westbrook who is over 30 and Anthony Davis’ body reacts as if he is over 40 (due to his injury history).

The Lakers were set up for disappointment from the start.
