NBA Rumors: Could LeBron James team up with Luka Doncic next?

On the surface, at the age of 37, it may seem as if LeBron James is on his last legs. However, this season proved everything but that.

Sure, LeBron may have only played in 56 games so far this season, but he averaged 30 points, eight rebounds, and six assists on 52 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range. He still has very much left in the tank.

The big question for LeBron this summer is whether or not he’s going to exert what he has left with the Los Angeles Lakers or if he wants to roll the dice on another franchise?

So far, he hasn’t said he wants out of the Lakers and, instead, has said he’s happy. However, as always has been the case for LeBron, we can never take what he says at face value.

The big issue with LeBron and his potential options is they are limited. However, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, one potential option that shouldn’t be overlooked is LeBron playing alongside Luka Doncic.

Should that happen, that likely has to take place in Dallas. Especially considering Luka just signed a huge max extension with the team recently.

In order to make it work, however, LeBron would have to demand a trade from management. The good news for LeBron and his camp is that it’s likely he could dictate exactly where he wants to play next season. He’s at that point in his career. Could it be the Mavs with Luka?

The Lakers can’t run it back next season. However, they don’t have many options to retool the roster. There’s a reasonable chance that they could elect to part ways with LeBron and there aren’t many intriguing options out there that would surpass the duo of LeBron and Luka in Dallas.
