NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, Damian Lillard wouldn’t “fight” a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Portland Trail Blazers are expected to be one of the most active teams this offseason. If they want to get back to contender status in the Western Conference, they have plenty of work to do during the summer.
One big question that the team will have to answer this offseason revolves around Damian Lillard and how they want to proceed forward with – or without – him. And while it would be surprising to see the Blazers trade Lillard this offseason, there are tea leaves that suggest he wouldn’t entirely be opposed to that idea. And quite frankly, it has to be at least an outside option for the Blazers.
If they are truly considering every option this offseason, they have to at least weigh the possibility of trading Lillard.
And, according to a recent report, Lillard wouldn’t “fight” a trade away from Portland if that’s what the Blazers decided they wanted to do.
"[via CNBC]“If they came to me and they wanted to trade me—I’m not going to fight them on wanting to trade me. I don’t want to be anywhere I’m not wanted. But I don’t think that’s the case.”"
This shouldn’t exactly be ground-breaking but it is interesting heading into an offseason that not many know what to expect from the Blazers. They have a projected top 6 pick in this year’s NBA Draft and will have plenty of cap space to work with.
However, with everything that has been reported, it seems that the Blazers are sold on retooling around Lillard. That’s everything they’ve been saying publically. Of course, saying one thing and doing another is an entirely different thing.
This offseason should be interesting across the NBA as a whole, as it is every year, particularly for the Blazers who have some big decisions to make.
