2. San Antonio Spurs – Chet Holmgren, C, Gonzaga
The San Antonio Spurs jumping into the top 5 would actually be quite interesting. This is a team that is at a crossroads as a franchise and could really benefit from a gift at the NBA Draft. That’s exactly what picking No. 2 overall would be.
With the second pick, the Spurs could select Chet Holmgren. He’s one of the most versatile players at the top of this draft class and he’s 7-foot tall. It’s almost impossible to project what type of player he’ll be in the NBA, but he seems like a promising prospect.
And I’m sure placing him in a well-oiled organization such as the Spurs would help him reach his full potential. Even more so if Gregg Popovich is going to give the Spurs another year or two.
