Karl-Anthony Towns is not THAT guy
On the surface, Karl-Anthony Towns should be one of the best players in the game and at his position. And for the most part, he is during the regular season. In fact, he’s coming off a year in which he averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists on 53 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from 3. Impressive numbers
However, in the postseason, he hasn’t been that guy. When the Minnesota Timberwolves have needed him to either take over, get the team out of a rut, or be KAT, he hasn’t.
Through the first three games against the Memphis Grizzlies, KAT was averaging just 17 points and two assists per game. He was averaging 10 boards, though. During the postseason, KAT is averaging less than 10 shot attempts per game. During the regular season, he averaged more than 16.
Maybe KAT will never be THAT guy in the postseason.
