Add depth to the bench

Among the many variables that doomed the Brooklyn Nets this season was their lack of depth on the bench. Heading into the offseason, there’s a chance that Brooklyn could lose Patty Mills (player option), Bruce Brown (expiring), Nic Claxton (expiring contract, Goran Dragic (expiring contract), and Andre Drummond (expiring contract).

That’s five of their top 9 in the playoff rotation and one starter. If Brooklyn wants to be a contender next season, they’re going to need depth. And it could be tricky because they may not have much financial wiggle room.

The good news is that Joe Harris should be back from injury at the start of next season, and Seth Curry and Kessler Edwards will be under contract for next season. That’s three players you expect to see in Brooklyn’s rotation next season. After that, the front office has to figure out the rest.
