1. Houston Rockets – Jabari Smith, F, Auburn

For as good as the new wave bigs have looked and impacted the modern NBA, the Houston Rockets would want in on that possibility. And looking at the top of the draft, Jabari Smith would fit the mold.

He’s already a good shooter and seems like he could develop into a natural scorer at the next level. Because of his length and physical traits, he also has the potential to be a three-level scorer – at least that should be the goal for his peak.

If he can get there, there’s no question that he could emerge as a worthy No. 1 overall selection. And the Rockets are hoping that Smith’s potential is one that is met in the next 2-3 years.
