Gordon Hayward, Charlotte Hornets

There have already been whispers that Hayward could be looking for a change of scenery and the Lakers wouldn’t be the worse landing spot. Hayward needs to land on a team that is closer to contention than the Charlotte Hornets. That’s perfectly fine.

Los Angeles could be the answer. He’s a proven winner, a productive player still, and doesn’t need the spotlight to thrive. If the Lakers can figure out the money, there’s no reason to think why they shouldn’t make a run at Hayward.

He shouldn’t be the team’s No. 1 offseason but certainly could emerge as a target if the Lakers aren’t able to get other targets that would dramatically raise the team’s ceiling heading into the 2-2022-23 NBA season.
