Should the Utah Jazz trade Donovan Mitchell?
This is the big question that is facing the Utah Jazz this offseason. Just watching the Jazz play this season, they didn’t look like a team that loved playing together. In fact, it seemed as if they were almost relieved when their season ended. Again, that’s just an outside perspective.
The Gobert-Mitchell stuff was getting out of hand and was starting to seem like all the noise was at least partially true. Whether or not that’s actually the case remains to be seen. But I like to believe that, generally, where there’s smoke there’s fire.
If the Jazz is ready for a retooling or rebuild, there’s no question that they should strongly consider trading Mitchell this offseason. He’s their best asset and would bring back a huge return.
However, there’s a good chance that this front office isn’t ready to make that decision and, instead, would want to run it back next season. If they do come to that conclusion, you can’t really blame them.
