Trade Talent Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn for an established contributor
The Los Angeles Lakers banked a large portion of their offseason decisions last summer on the idea that Talen Horton-Tucker was going to make some sort of developmental jump during his third season. Even though THT had to battle injuries to start the year, he never really made the jump that LA projected him to make.
Heading into this offseason, the Lakers need to take the risk of packaging THT with their only other tangible asset (Kendrick Nunn, who didn’t even play in a game last season for LA) in an attempt to find an established contributor.
That package is unlikely to land them a star per se, but it could land them a rotational glue-guy. Perhaps someone like Gordon Hayward-style type of player that wouldn’t drastically raise the ceiling but would certainly help this team in their pursuit of another title.
