Staple an asset to trade Russell Westbrook for a difference-making shooter

For as bad as the Russell Westbrook acquisition will end up looking, the Los Angeles Lakers will likely have a few options to move him during the offseason. He’s an expiring contract after next season and there will be teams that will be willing to take on the final year of his contract for an asset.

The Lakers need to swallow their pride and admit that the move was a mistake. Their punishment will be stapling an asset to his contract to get him off the books. There are plenty of teams that could afford his contract and the Lakers need to find a shooter in his place.

They don’t necessarily need a true point guard with LeBron on the roster and could use a Buddy Hield type (haha) in return. Maybe the Indiana Pacers would be willing to do the move for a first-round pick and pick swap in the future?
