The NBA conference finals are here. Will two new superstars leap into stardom or will two of the best franchises in recent history meet in the NBA Finals?

The defending champions from each conference were blown out in Game 7s. Both being done so at the hands of two of the next generation’s best players.

Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum are both under the age of 25 and both are already top 10 players in the NBA. On the other hand, there are two veteran players on the other side trying to reach the NBA Finals once again.

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat are trying to reach the Finals for the second time in three seasons. Then, there are the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry who are trying to continue what they had ended in 2019 at the hands of the Toronto Raptors.

Eastern Conference Finals

Since the year 2005, no other Eastern Conference teams have made more conference finals than the Celtics and the Heat.

With the history between the two teams, Boston is looking to avenge their last two conference finals losses which came at the hand of the Miami Heat.

The Heat got past the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers with their starting point guard, Kyle Lowry battling injury. Now, with the NBA’s best defense in the Celtics up next, the Heat are going to need all their weapons as Boston is just as well constructed as the Heat.

My prediction is the team that hits the most 3-pointers will advance to the NBA Finals. Miami is shooting 32 percent in the postseason vs. Boston’s 37 percent.

Boston has the edge coming into the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, but the Heat have the better coach and leader in what should be a seven-game series.

Western Conference Finals

There was a tweet that resonated with me a lot. It said that Luka Doncic is pretty much LeBron James without a 44-inch vertical.

Since I saw that tweet, Luka went on to make Chris Paul and Devin Booker his children for a two-game period.

The Mavericks went on to blow the Suns back into space with blowouts in Games 6 and 7 with the biggest leade reaching as high as 46 points.

Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and even Wilt Chamberlain. Those players are owners of some of the highest ppg in NBA history during elimination games. Who is the number one player on the list?

Luka Doncic is one of, if not the greatest postseason performers in history and is just 23 years old. Now, a date with the second greatest player of their generation Stephen Curry awaits the next great generational player.

The Mavericks and Warriors are set to start their NBA Western Conference Finals this Wednesday. The Warriors have been waiting three years since losing the 2019 NBA Finals to get back to this exact spot.

No Kevin Durant as well. The main core of Curry, Thompson, and Green is still intact and the new age San Antonio Spurs. All being healthy, this is the best opportunity they have to get back to the Finals.

The only problem is that they had to deal with LeBron James for five-plus years and now they have to deal with a player who is nearly identical to one of the all-time greats.

It is no secret Luka makes the guys around him look sensational with the way he sets them all up with his type of magical passing. Similar to King James, Doncic is a practical triple-double every time he steps on the court.

My prediction is simple, if Luka Doncic can get help from Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie, the Mavericks will be going to the NBA Finals.

If Brunson and Dinwiddie can each contribute close to 20 points a night along with Luka’s scoring and the Mavs’ 3-point shooting, I like the Mavs’ chances.

With no help, it will be a Lebron James type effort with Doncic coming up short in five or six games and Curry advancing to his sixth NBA Finals.
