In a relatively down free-agent class, the Bucks will look to add depth to their top-heavy team with the trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday.

Their main way of doing this will be through the taxpayer mid-level exception, which sits just over $6.3 million. Besides that, they’ll likely be limited to minimum contracts.

Milwaukee Bucks free-agent needs: A backup ball-handler

After Jrue Holiday, the Bucks’ point guard situation is a giant question mark. How much longer can head coach Mike Budenholzer count on George Hill, and will Jevon Carter even be back in Wisconsin?

Knowing this, a backup ball-handler could be a good use of the little free agent flexibility that Milwaukee has. Names such as Austin Rivers, who an both score off the dribble and shoot the catch-and-shoot 3 could be effective in a system revolving around Giannis.

Alternatively, someone like Dennis Schroder could maintain control of the offensive when Antetokounmpo is off the floor. Ultimately, shooting should be a priority to complement the Greek Freak, but another ball-handler for when the Giannis doesn’t get the ball downhill would be useful.
