The state of the Milwaukee Bucks
This team is only 11 months removed from an NBA championship, and still has the best player in the world. If Khris Middleton doesn’t go down with an injury, Milwaukee could have very well been back-to-back champions.
However, their team clearly has holes on their bench, as may suffer more with the offseason decisions of Pat Connaughton and Bobby Portis. Both were crucial parts of this year’s team, difficult to replace them with the Bucks’ financial limitations.
The Bucks’ big three, along with Brook Lopez, push the team above the salary cap on their own, leaving Milwaukee with their hands tied. They can look to add veteran pieces in free agency, and perhaps pull off a trade to acquire more rotational pieces.
It’s clear that the Milwaukee Bucks will need more sufficient depth in every position to sustain another major injury. It will be exciting to see how Milwaukee addresses their issues of playoff depth in the offseason.
When Giannis is on the team, it’s the front office’s responsibility to go all out in building a roster around the Greek Freak. Put a team with shooting and depth around him, and they are instantly a championship contender, if not favorite.
