Player options: Bobby Portis

In a similar situation to Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis has a player option for just over $4.5 million next season. He’s unlikely to take that, with his productive play earning him a substantial raise after signing a team-friendly deal last summer.

The 27-year-old averaged over 14 points a night while shooting 39% from the perimeter and 47% from the field. He’s able to stretch the floor while holding his own on the offensive and defensive glass, allowing teams to play a five-out style.

His offensive efficiency should give Portis a 3-year, $30 million offer at the very least, with tons of teams valuing his services. An extremely important part to both their culture and depth, Portis would undoubtedly stay in Milwaukee if the price is right.

However, under an ownership group that’s been reluctant to spend before, how far are they willing to go to keep Portis?

Player options: Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Thanasis Antetokounmpo will likely stay with his brother in Milwaukee one way or another, as he continues to be one of the biggest voices on the sideline and in the locker room. He has a player option for just over $1.8 million next year, a number he won’t exceed anywhere else.
