3. Houston Rockets – Jabari Smith, F, Auburn

Rounding out the top 3 was the Houston Rockets at the NBA Draft Lottery. Considering the way the board has fallen, Jabari Smith falling to the Rockets is a win-win for all parties involved. Smith would be a great fit for the talented backcourt on this team and the few pieces it has in the frontcourt, including Christian Wood.

Smith proved during his freshman season that he can be a natural offensive scorer and has the potential to be an absolute star. Whether or not he gets there remains to be seen, but he’ll be in a place where he’d have that opportunity.

By landing Smith, the Rockets would have a good young core to build around heading into next season. They could end up being the next surprise in the Western Conference.
