5. Detroit Pistons – Jaden Ivey, G, Purdue

This may be a little unpopular, especially with Cade Cunningham already on the roster, but Jaden Ivey is the best player still on the draft board. And it would be short of a crime if the Detroit Pistons didn’t take Ivey simply because they already have a guard of the future on the roster.

The good thing about Ivey is that he is interchangeable and has the size and skill set to play either guard position. The same could be said about Cunningham, even though he struggled from 3-point range this past season.

Ivey is too good of a prospect to not be taken in the top 5. The Pistons need to take the best player available and that means Ivey with the way the draft board has fallen. A starting core of Ivey and Cunningham is a great foundation for Detroit.
