With a fully healthy Zion Williamson, the New Orleans Pelicans are in a good place heading into the offseason.

Zion Williamson is fully cleared and ready to tackle the offseason as he has not thus far in his young career. According to the New Orleans Pelicans, he’s officially ready to go for the offseason with no limitations due to his most recent foot injury.

This will really be the first offseason where he’s completely healthy and where he can work in and under the New Orleans Pelicans. The last time that he entered the summer healthy was when he was drafted, but that doesn’t really count considering he didn’t join the Pelicans until essentially July.

From his rookie to sophomore season, he was injured and wasn’t ready to play until December. Then from his sophomore year to his third year (which was this season), he had a mysterious injury and surgical procedure. He didn’t play in a game this season.

But now that he’s fully cleared, he will be in a perfect place to make the most of his fourth season with the Pelicans. And it could come with a newly signed deal – he’s eligible for a huge extension and should get one this summer.

Plus, the Pelicans are in a good place organizational-wise as well. They finished the season on the right foot and the addition of CJ McCollum should significantly help this team heading into next season.

The trio of McCollum, Brandon Ingram, and Zion should create some problems in the Western Conference next season. And if they continue to build out the team with the right talent, there’s no question that the Pelicans could be right back in the playoff picture next season. In fact, with a healthy Zion heading into the offseason, there’s probably no reason why they shouldn’t be.
