2022 NBA Draft: 3 prospects that could be franchise-changing
Shaedon Sharpe, G, Kentucky
Shaedon Sharpe could be the highest upside player in this entire draft, and that’s not a reach. Sharpe has every offensive tool you need for a 30-point plus every night scorer. If you ever have watched Sharpe, you will immediately have flashbacks of Brandon Roy dominating the league. But Sharpe has an insane vertical, so his potential might be higher than Roy’s, as long as he stays healthy.
Shaedon Sharpe has the most elite offensive game in this year’s draft. Sharpe can score from anywhere on the floor. He can drain threes, has a wild standing dunk because of his unreal vertical, and his step-back is unstoppable. Sharpe’s offensive play will leave you in disbelief.
There are a few negatives to Sharpe’s game, but the one that stands out the most is out of his control. Even though Sharpe sat on the bench for Kentucky, he didn’t play a single minute for the Wildcats, and this leaves scouts with his play from years prior, word of mouth, draft workouts, and coach Calipari talking high about Sharpe. The other two questions surrounding Sharpe’s game are his passing and his defense, but to be honest, most of that is because we haven’t seen him play at a top-level as the college provides.
Sharpe’s physique will bode well for him defensively because he is 6-foot-6 and has a 7-foot wingspan, along with his freak athleticism, will have teams drooling over what he can be.
Overall, Sharpe will either be Rookie of the Year or a solid starter. I love everything he brings, even if he hasn’t played against top-level competition. Sharpe is my number four prospect in this year’s draft, and I expect him to snag a spot in the top 5 selections on draft night. He will be an offensive wizard. Wherever he lands, the franchisee will be much improved for years to come.
