Should the Miami Heat look to upgrade the point guard position?

Flat out, Kyle Lowry was not an impactful piece of the puzzle for the Miami Heat. And considering he was the team’s biggest acquisition of the offseason, that was the problem. The Heat needed Lowry and he simply wasn’t healthy enough to answer the bell.

Injuries are part of the game and won’t be remembered when looking back at this playoff run. All that will be remembered is the fact that Lowry averaged just eight points and five assists on 29 percent shooting from the field and 24 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Heading into the offseason, the Heat will need to figure out if they need to upgrade the point guard position. Lowry is only getting older and clearly isn’t the player he once was. Miami is probably stuck with the contract, but they may need depth in the backcourt.
