What to do with Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson?

Arguably the most important of questions surrounding the Miami Heat this offseason is what to do with Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson. Herro will be eligible for an extension this offseason and likely will be asking for max money (or something really close to that).

Is Miami willing to give Herro a max extension? Coming off his showing in the postseason, that doesn’t seem likely. After averaging 21 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game on 45 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range in the regular season, Herro only averaged 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists on 41 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent shooting from 3-point range.

If Herro is demanding a max extension and Miami isn’t willing to offer that, perhaps it could create some “drama” for the Heat this offseason.

And Robinson’s situation is a bit more complicated. Robinson will be heading into the second year of a $90 million contract after losing his starting spot to an undrafted free agent and then falling completely out of the rotation during the playoffs. Could they look to trade him?

It’s not as simple as running it back next season for the Heat. In fact, at this point, it would be surprising if they did.
