The case for rebuilding

To be all-in on a potential rebuild for the New York Knicks, there is really one big stipulation – you have to be done with Julius Randle. He would be the big trade piece that would effectively kick-start the rebuild for the team.

With, really, the only player defined as an untouchable is RJ Barrett. He has shown promise throughout his young career, he’s proven that he’s a legit building block for the team moving forward. It’s time that the team proves that by allowing him to be the No. 1 option in this next rebuild.

That means the team needs to build around Barrett. I’m not sure if they’re entirely sold on that idea as of yet. However, that could change this offseason if they have seen enough of Randle and could find a taker for him.

The Knicks were bad this past season and a lot of that was with Randle trying to be the team’s No. 1 option. That hasn’t worked. A rebuild around Barrett could be necessary now.
