The Boston Celtics survived and thrived in a “Steph” game

The Boston Celtics didn’t just win Game 1 but they did so in the midst of a magical night from Stephen Curry. He opened the game on fire, scoring 21 points (including six 3’s) in the first quarter. Curry finished with 34 points on the night.

Generally, that is a game in which the Warriors win. However, a big reason why the Celtics were able to win Game 1 on the road was the fact that they managed to survive the first-quarter Steph onslaught that the Warriors opened the game with.

Boston should feel really good that they not only survived a great performance from Steph but that they thrived in the midst of one. It should only feed this team’s confidence heading into Game 2.
