The Boston Celtics proved they can beat the Golden State Warriors at their own game

Keeping on with the theme of this article; not only did the Boston Celtics win Game 1 on the road but they proved that they could beat the Golden State Warriors at their own game. Even though the Warriors lost Game 1, there was plenty that went their way Thursday night.

Steph had a big night (34 points), the team shot pretty well overall (44% FG, 42% 3PT), and hit 19 3’s on the night. Generally, you would expect that to be a win for the Warriors. However, they lost the game by 12.

The Celtics proved that on any given night, even with a bad offensive night from Tatum, they could beat the Warriors at their own game. Boston outshot Golden State and hit more 3’s (21) than them. It resulted in a huge Game 1 win.

Make no mistake, adjustments are coming. I’m sure Warriors coach Steve Kerr and the coaching staff is already cooking up something. However, Game 1 was a clear indicator that the Celtics can win this series. And there are plenty of positives that they can take into Game 2.
