5. New York Knicks (via Detroit) – Jaden Ivey, G, Purdue

With this mock trade, the New York Knicks go all-in on finding their long-term answer at the point guard position and they truly believe that Jaden Ivey is that player. Ivey has the star potential that the Knicks crave and he would give this team a great duo of young building blocks.

The trade would be costly, but if the Knicks truly believe that they’re getting a franchise cornerstone, the deal would have to hurt. Ivey would reenergize this franchise and help take some of the pressure off of RJ Barrett.

The Knicks would steal NBA Draft night with this big move and I’m sure New York fans in attendance would go crazy for this sort of move. It would be an entertaining night all around.
