NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, the Philadelphia 76ers are shopping for difference-makers via the trade market.

After losing in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Philadelphia 76ers are widely expected to try and make some improvements this offseason. Though, there’s a true argument to make that a healthy Sixers team could still be playing right now.

Nevertheless, it would be foolish for the Sixers to not try to add a piece or two heading into next season. And, according to a recent report, the Sixers are shopping their first-round pick in an attempt to improve their roster.

The 2022 NBA Draft is a little more than a week away and the Sixers currently own the No. 23 overall pick in the first round. As is generally the case, the draft is a breeding ground for trades and unofficially marks the “start of the offseason.”

"[via The Ringer]“The Sixers are exploring trades involving this (first-round) pick and Danny Green, according to sources.”"

Philly is in win-now mode and if they feel they’re remotely close to winning a championship, they should be doing everything in their power to continue to build around their core. They obviously feel they are close, so the fact that they’d be open to trading their first-round pick shouldn’t be surprising.

The addition of Danny Green is likely simply to make any salary to work. Green is on an expiring contract next season and will be facing an uphill battle to even play next season after he suffered both a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee.

The Sixers are expected to be all-in on next season, especially if they give James Harden the long-term extension that he’ll be seeking.

Philly will likely make a move this offseason. And it will likely involve their first-round pick. The big question, however, is whether or not it will be a meaningful one.
